Dr. Wuest completed his residency at the Univ. of Iowa Department of Orthopedic Surgery and a fellowship in the U.K. prior to beginning a 25-year career as an orthopedic trauma surgeon in Eugene, OR, USA.
As President of Slocum Orthopedics, PC, he led the design, construction, and completion of an 80,000sq.ft. musculoskeletal center. During his leadership he doubled the group’s gross annual revenue and completed negotiations/implementation of a regional Orthopedic Trauma Service with a referral population of over 500,000 patients.
He led Agate Resources through a $146M acquisition by Centene Corporation and served for 3-1/2 years as the Chief Medical Officer for the Oregon Market for Centene, managing the Medical Directors, Quality Program, and physician outreach for over 200,000 members.
After graduating with a Class Rank of 1 from USC’s Marshall School of Business Masters in Medical Management Program in 2010, he returned in 2013 as an adjunct faculty member serving as Physician In Residence.
He and Megan, his wife of over 34 years, live and work in EUG/PDX where they enjoy walking with the dogs and venturing together onto the golf course as much as possible.
Al is a Health Care Executive and serial entrepreneur with nearly 40 years of experience as a health sciences, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical development professional.
In senior leadership roles as CEO, President, and Board of Directors positions in both public and private companies he has extensive experience in early-stage growth companies and participated directly or advised a number of companies on financing strategies from seed stage rounds to public NASDAQ offerings.
He has led and/or co-founded several entities (Mito Sciences, Cascade ProDrug, among others) and is skilled in all aspects of business development and execution — strategic planning, finance, corporate partnering, and administration.
He is well known for fostering entrepreneurship in Oregon and he served as an Adjunct Professor at the Univ. of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business teaching entrepreneurial studies.
John is a seasoned Senior Financial Management Executive with deep experience in the Pacific Northwest. He served as President and CFO of Monaco Coach Corporation and helped lead and engineer a successful public offering for that concern. A long-time partner at Kernutt, Stokes, LLC accounting firm, he now serves in an advisory capacity for selected clients and serves as Ulcer Solutions’ CFO and Financial expert.
Additional work history includes CFO for Feeney Wireless, LLC, Controller for L&M Industrial Fabrication, among others.
He received his MBA in Finance at the University of Oregon and continues to live/work in Eugene.
Rich serves as the FDA/Regulatory/Compliance consulting expert for Ulcer Solutions. He is the CEO of Vision 28, a consulting firm based in Redmond, OR. He has vast experience and takes a pragmatic approach to quality management, regulatory affairs, and compliance. His experience spans world-class enterprises and multinational organizations in medical device industries as a hands-on Quality Engineer, Research and Development Manager, Quality Assurance Plant Manager, and Director and Vice President of Quality Assurance and Research and Development.
This range of experience enables him to quickly target practical solutions to difficult problems. Rich has also spent significant time preparing for and hosting regulatory audits and remediating difficult audit observations. He has designed and implemented Design Control, Software Validation, CAPA, and other quality system elements that have stood up to robust examination by both Notified Bodies and FDA inspectors.
He received his BS in Electronics Engineering from Oregon State University and earned an MBA through Phoenix University.
